Georgia VoteSafe Program
The Georgia VoteSafe Program provides for the confidentiality of
resident's address of certain registered voters who have been or may be
subject to acts of family violence, stalking or currently reside in a family
violence shelter. Contact your local registrar if you would like to
partake in the VoteSafe program or need more information.

Currently six forms of ID are acceptable for voting in the state of Georgia.

Please note that these are different than the 17 forms previously accepted.
Photo ID is now
required to vote in the state of Georgia. If you do not have a photo ID

I've moved. What do I need to do?
It depends if you have moved out of state, out of the county or to another
location within the county.
Out Of State:
You will need to contact the registrar in the county/state that you have
moved to. We cannot
transfer your voter registration information. You will need to contact the
Catoosa County registrar
as well to terminate your registration in Georgia
Out Of The County:
You will need to contact either your new or old county registrar and ask
for
a change of address form. This form can be mailed, or you may pick one up
in person at any county registrars office.

How do I get an absentee ballot?
You may contact the elections office at 706-935-3990 or
print this form, fill it out
and mail to:

You may request an absentee ballot as early as 180
days before
an election. The application
must be in writing, contain the address to which
the ballot is to
be mailed, have sufficient
information to identify you as a voter, and indicate
the election in which
you wish to vote. No reason is required when requesting an absentee ballot
by mail.
Mail this application to the elections office and they will
mail your absentee ballot.
Each election will require a new request for
an absentee ballot unless you
check the box indicating
that you wish to
receive all absentee ballots as allowed by law (must be disabled, 75 or older
or UOCAVA to be eligible for all ballots as allowed by law).

How can I get an absentee ballot for a relative?
If your close relative is physically disabled or living temporarily outside
their county of residence,
you may apply for an absentee ballot for them. Close relative is defined
as: mother, father, grandparent, brother,
sister, aunt, uncle, spouse, son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild,
son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law,
father-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law. You will be required to
sign an oath testifying that the voter is
either out of county or physically disabled.

What hours are the polls open?
On election day (always Tuesday in GA.) the polls are
open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone in line by 7:00 p.m.
will be allowed to vote. On election day, voters MUST
go to their assigned precinct. Advanced voting hours
are as posted below.

What is the difference between absentee and advanced voting?
Absentee voting: Can be done via mail. Can vote up to 45 days prior to
the election via mail. No reason required.
Advanced voting: Can only be done at
Catoosa Hall or Westside Voting Precinct starting three weeks prior to the election
No
reason required to advance vote. Hours and Locations given above.
PLEASE NOTE: VOTING IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE MONDAY DIRECTLY BEFORE
"ELECTION TUESDAY".
