Advance Voting will be at Catoosa Hall (previously Courthouse Annex) the entire week  prior to the election.  No reason needed to advance vote.  All precincts "advance vote" in downtown Ringgold.

What are acceptable forms of ID for voting?
   
Currently six forms of ID are acceptable for voting in the state of Georgia.
            Georgia driver's license
            Valid ID card issued by any state or U.S. with photo
            Valid U.S. passport
            Valid Government employee photo ID
            Valid U.S. military ID card with photo
            Valid tribal ID card with photo

    Please note that these are different than the 17 forms previously accepted.  Photo ID is now
    required to vote in the state of Georgia.  If you do not have a photo ID contact the Registrar.

I've moved.  What do I need to do?
   
It depends if you have moved out of state, out of the county or to another
    location within the county.
Out Of State:
   
You will need to contact the registrar in the county/state that you have moved to.  We cannot
    transfer your voter registration information.  You will need to contact the Catoosa County registrar
    as well to terminate your registration in Georgia

Out Of The County:
   
You will need to contact either your new or old county registrar and ask for
    a change of address form.  This form can be mailed, or you may pick one up
    in person at any county registrars office.

How do I get an absentee ballot?
   
You may contact the elections office at 706-935-3990 or go online at
    http://www.sos.ga.gov/elections/elections/voter%5Finformation/#Absentee_Voting to complete
    an absentee ballot application. You may request an absentee ballot as early as 180 days before
    an election. The application must be in writing, contain the address to which the ballot is to
    be mailed, have sufficient information to identify you as a voter, and indicate the election in which
    you wish to vote.  No reason is required when requesting an absentee ballot by mail.
    Mail or bring this application to the elections office and they will mail your absentee ballot.
    Each election will require a new request for absentee ballot unless you
    check the box indicating that you wish to receive all absentee ballots as allowed by law.

How can I get an absentee ballot for a relative?
   
If your close relative is physically disabled or living temporarily outside their county of residence,
    you may apply for an absentee ballot for them.  Close relative is defined as: mother, father, grandparent, brother,
    sister, aunt, uncle, spouse, son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law,
    father-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law.  You will be required to sign an oath testifying that the voter is
    either out of county or physically disabled.

When is advance voting?
   
Advance voting occurs the entire week prior to any election.  In Catoosa County, the polls are open 8:00 a.m. until
    5:00 p.m. (normal office hours) as well as an extended session on Thursday when the polls will stay open until 7:00 p.m.

Advance voting for ALL OF CATOOSA COUNTY will take place at Catoosa Hall (formerly the Courthouse Annex)
    in downtown Ringgold.

What is required to advance vote?
   
Advance voting requires nothing more than the ID stated in the first question.  No reason is required to advance vote.

What is the difference between absentee and advance voting?
    Absentee voting:
Can be done via mail.  Can vote up to 45 days prior to the election either in house or via mail.
        Although voting absentee via mail does not require a reason, if you opt to vote absentee in-house (at Catoosa Hall)
        you will be required to state a reason.  Valid reasons are: Absent from precinct all day (7 am - 7 pm) on election day,
        physical disability, must give constant care to someone who is physically disabled, election official, religious holiday,
        must be in place of employment to protect health, life or safety of the public for the entire time the polls are open,
        75 years of age or older, a citizen of the U.S. permanently residing outside the U.S., or are a member of the military
        or spouse or dependant of a member residing outside the county.
    Advance voting: Can only be done at Catoosa Hall the week prior to the election.  No reason needed.

    Please remember this important part: If you are submitting this form by mail and you are registering for the first
    time in Georgia, enclose a copy of one of the following with your application: A copy of a current and valid
    photo ID, a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government
    document that shows your name and address. Those who are entitled to vote by absentee ballot under the Uniform
    and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act are exempt from this requirement.
