Anyone who does business within the state of Georgia, however, is required to have a business license issued by a municipality in Georgia. Each individual municipality may choose one or more of four options on which to base the cost of the business license: gross receipts, predictability ratio, number of employees and flat rate. The city of Ringgold issues business licenses where cost is based on the number of employees, with a cap at 49 employees. Hunting and Fishing Licenses for the state of Georgia may be obtained at some sporting goods stores, feed stores or other stores that carry sporting goods. If a person was born before 1961, they only need proof of Georgia residence (i.e. drivers license, utility bill) to obtain a license. If they were born after 1961, they will need a hunters safety course certificate, as well as proof of Georgia residence. Licenses are issued for one year and expire on March 31st.
A basic small-game hunting license for a Georgia resident is $10. A separate fishing license is $9. Other stamps or licenses must be obtained for big game hunting (such as deer), trapping, duck hunting, archery and wildlife management areas. A sportsmans license, which includes everything, is $60.
For non-Georgia residents, a small-game hunting license is $59, and a big game license is an additional $118. A wildlife management area stamp is $73. Marriage Licenses are issued by the Probate Court office. To be married, a couple must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license or certified birth certificate. The cost of a marriage license itself is $56, cash only.
