PUBLIC HEARING
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
Chairman Clark called the public hearing to order at 6:00 p.m. The following commissioners were present: William H. H. Clark, Chairman; Ken Marks, Commissioner, District One; Robert R. Winters, Commissioner, District Two; Jim Emberson, Commissioner, District Three; and Dewayne Hill, Commissioner, District Four.
County Attorney Skip Patty stated the purpose of the public hearing is called pursuant to the following notice:
As prescribed by the Georgia Planning Act of 1989, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs requires all local governments to update their Comprehensive Plan. Catoosa County, City of Ringgold, and City of Fort Oglethorpe must develop, adopt, and submit a partial update to the Comprehensive Plan by February 28, 2008 to retain their Qualified Local Government (QLG) status. (Should QLG status lapse, these local governments cannot get loans, grants, or permits through the state.)
Catoosa County will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the 6 p.m. meeting of the Catoosa County Board of Commissioners at the Catoosa County Administrative Building, 800 Lafayette Street, in Ringgold, Georgia to allow community input and inquiry regarding the Comprehensive Plan update.
Chairman Clark called for comments concerning the plan update.
