ANIMAL CONTROL - Catoosa County

Full-Time Kennel &Field Officer - $12.00/hour

 

Post until March 29, 2018 @ 4:30 PM,

 

Requirements/Preferences:

 

  • Answers, logs and directs telephone calls to proper personnel.

  • Dispatch pertinent information, in an accurate and timely manner, to the Field Animal Control Officers. 

  • Comprehend and enforce state, county and municipal ordinances pertaining to animals kept within or transported through Catoosa County.

  • Process adoptions/impounds for Shelter and maintains all files.

  • Assists in investigating complaints of stray, nuisance animals as assigned.

  • Assists in investigating complaints of animal bites and completes required reports.

  • Handles office and daily activities of the Animal Control Department.

  • As assigned, will perform euthanasia on sick, injured or non-adoptive animals in accordance with the law.

  • Participate in the operations of the crematory.

  • Able to accommodate on-call rotations with some weekend shift work.

  • Cleans the office and assists in cleaning the shelter kennels on a daily basis.

  • Perform computer tasks with accuracy and proficiency.

  • Maintain a calm, helpful, courteous, and professional attitude at all times.

  • Must be able to work as a team member.

  • Other duties deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the Animal Shelter.

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • Minimum Education:  High School Diploma/Equivalent.

  • Prefer at least one year in customer service.

  • Must possess a valid Drivers License with a good driving record.

 

Skills:

 

  • Able to proficiently use a computer, Windows and Microsoft applications and data entry applications.

  • Able to use miscellaneous office equipment.

  • Ability to lift 40-50 pounds unassisted and over 51-100 pounds assisted.

  • Ability to differentiate color and shades of color.

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.

  • Must possess good organization skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Good math, verbal and written skills.

  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment for the safe handling of animals.
