Information Technology Project Specialist- FULL TIME
SALARY RANGE: $52,000 - $62,000
Manages and evaluates the development, design, and implementation of technology projects
within the guidelines of local, state and federal laws, County ordinances, County policies,
departmental regulations and technical manuals. Works with directors, supervisors, elected
officials, vendors, consultants, outside agencies and other IT professionals to implement and
utilize computer resources.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs project management, implementation, testing, upgrade, support and training for
application systems and departments.
Manages, develops and implements troubleshooting, problem solving, testing techniques,
and data conversion processes within the context of application support. Manages,
analyzes and maintains application security.
Performs business analysis and documents business requirements based on customer
business needs and recommends appropriate hardware and/or software solutions.
Designs, develops and maintains customer project documentation.
Provides input for Request for Proposals, Quotes, and performs subsequent assessment
of vendor scopes of work and contracts.
Analyzes and recommends IT budget needs and orders for designated departments.
Implementation of vendor-supplied business application software in an end-user
Thorough and accurate documentation of project management steps and results.
Implementation and support for Public Safety technology software.
Support for Website software.
Minimum Requirements (Education, Training, Certifications/Licenses):
Education: Associates Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology,
Computer Science or related field is required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Four - Five years’ experience in an information systems project management
position. Three - Five years’ experience in Public Safety computer systems.
Licensing/Certifications: Possession of a valid driver’s license with good driving history.
Project Management Professional is preferred but not required.
