James Davis has worked in the Code Enforcement field for over 13 years and has served as the Planning and Zoning Director for Catoosa County since 2010.
Prior to coming to Catoosa County, James enlisted in the United States Army Military Police Corps. After his term of service, James graduated from the St. Petersburg Police Academy. In 2006, James joined the Catoosa County Stormwater Management staff and worked as a Stormwater Investigator. James was promoted to Code Enforcement Officer II in 2008, and eventually became the Planning and Zoning Director in 2010. In 2017, he was promoted again to Building Department Director.
In his role as Director, James is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Alcohol Licenses and Business Licenses, including the enforcement of Catoosa County ordinances pertaining to these items. Since becoming Director, James has overseen the completion of the County’s Unified Development Code (UDC). The UDC consists of all of the County’s Ordinances dealing with development and assists the County in maintaining compliance with its Comprehensive Plan. James has been a member of the Georgia Association of Zoning Administrators (GAZA) since 2010.
