Jason was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating high school he joined the United States Navy, where he served for six years, four of them aboard the ballistic missile submarine USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735). He attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee as an ROTC student, earning a Bachelors degree in Political Science.
In 2006, Jason received a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. In 2009 he deployed to Iraq as an armor Platoon Leader assigned to the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment of the Tennessee Army National Guard, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is currently the Assistant Operations Officer for RHHT of the 278th ACR.
Prior to starting with Catoosa Trans-Aid, Jason worked for the American Red Cross as a Disaster Program Manager, overseeing disaster response and preparation in a multi-county area of central and southeast Tennessee, as well as responding to disasters both locally and nationally. Jason, along with his wife, moved to Ringgold in March of 2016. He is married to the former Ramey Smith, who teaches at Gordon Lee Middle School in Chickamauga, Georgia.
