LIBRARY MANAGER - Catoosa County Library – FULL TIME

 

Post until October 7, 2019 4:30 PM,

40 hours/week (variable work schedule)

Pay Range: $36,500-$38,000

 

Requirements/Preferences:

  • Assists the Director in performing professional and administrative duties in planning, implementing, directing and evaluating library services.

  • Assists the Director in overall management and operations of the library.

  • Performs community outreach to civic groups and other organizations.

  • Performs financial and administrative functions.

  • Assists Director with monthly and annual reporting and training.

  • Performs front desk work assisting members and visitors.

  • Oversees the library’s collection to ensure all materials are shelved according to library guidelines.

  • Assists patrons with computers, internet, games, and other electronics.

  • Organizes and participates in special library events.

  • Responsible for opening and closing library according to checklists.

  • Other duties deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the Library.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of experience in library services

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science preferred.

  • One year of supervisory experience.

 

Skills:

  • Able to use computer, miscellaneous office equipment and machines.

  • Able to manage multi-tasks requiring high level of detail.

  • Able to work efficiently and complete tasks and projects with frequent unscheduled interruptions.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Able to exhibit good judgment and discretion while processing sensitive and/or confidential information.

  • Able to maintain files and records as assigned.

  • Able to work effectively in a teamwork environment.

  • Able to lift forty (40) pounds.

  • Must be able to work all hours of the day including mornings, nights, and weekends.
