ELECTIONS & VOTER REGISTRATION- Part-Time Elections Assistant I

Pay rate: $10.00-$13.00/Hour (29 hours a week)



  1. Answer telephones; provides information and assistance; respond to requests from public, elected officials, and candidates

  2. Perform data entry functions by keying data into our computer system

  3. Type letters & reports

  4. Assist with Absentee Balloting, Early Voting, Election Day processes

  5. Ensure registered voters are in their correct voting districts 

  6. Assist with collecting Ethic Reports

  7. Communicate with the Secretary of State’s Office in the absence of the Director

  8. Assist the Board of Elections & Registration in preparing for & conducting Elections

  9. Other related duties as deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the Voter Registration and Elections Department

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 years experience in secretarial or general office work or related field, or any combinations of education, training, or experience which provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

  • Proven ability to positively interact with the general public

  • Preference may be given to applicants with Georgia Election Official Certification. Non-certified will be required to obtain certification within three (3) years of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, & Email

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and conduct yourself in a professional manner

  • Ability to read land maps

  • Knowledge of  state and federal election laws

  • Ability to operate various office machines

  • Basic accounting/bookkeeping skills

  • Knowledge of the election process

  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions while maintaining attention to detail
