A native of Catoosa County, Steven Quinn joined the county’s fire department in 1999 as a volunteer firefighter.   In 2001, Chief Quinn became a full time firefighter and has since progressed through the ranks of the department.   While serving as both a volunteer and a career firefighter in 2004, Chief Quinn was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he was assigned as the supervisor over full time personnel.  In 2010, Chief Quinn was promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief.  In his current assignment as Assistant Chief, Quinn is responsible for managing expenditures, personnel, scheduling and payroll.  Chief Quinn also has the responsibility of the development and implementation of health and safety policies and guidelines, along with many additional duties as assigned.

 

Chief Quinn holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science and is currently enrolled at Columbia Southern University where he is working on his Bachelor's Degree. Chief Quinn is a member of several professional organizations including: the Northwest Georgia Fire Chiefs Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs and the Georgia State Firefighters Association.  During his time in the fire service, Chief Quinn has been recognized for his hard work and dedication.  In 2001 and 2003, he was awarded the department Firefighter of the Year award.  In 2006, he was honored to receive the Community Service Award. 

 

Chief Quinn also served as the Emergency Management Director for Catoosa County from 2006 through 2014, where he currently serves as a Deputy Director. During his tenure as the county EMA Director, the county experienced two federally declared disasters, including a major tornado in April of 2011.  In 2010, Chief Quinn successfully completed the Georgia FLAMES program (#107).  Chief Quinn currently holds many certifications and licenses to include: Georgia EMT-Intermediate, NPQ Firefighter I and II, NPQ Fire Officer I, NPQ Fire Instructor I and Georgia Certified Firefighter.
