CCFD utilizes the following resources for Training:
The Catoosa County Fire Department Training Division is responsible for delivering and maintaining the necessary training requirements that are set forth by the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council, as well as the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) Training topics that are covered annually include, but are not limited to; fire training at the company level, training center drills, hazardous materials, drivers training for both new and experienced drivers, and recruit training for new recruits that are hired as career and brought on as volunteers. Other areas of training include some area of technical rescue and emergency medical care. The Training Division is operated by Assistant Chief – Brad Buchanan, who maintains the standards and compliancy that are required for Catoosa County Fire Department to operate as a Georgia State Certified Fire Department. Chief Buchanan is assisted in conducting and delivering training by multiple certified instructors within the department.
